UAB presents Masters of the Italian and English
Baroque this Sunday, February 10 at 3pm in Hulsey Recital Hall. Lutenist Dieter Hennings joins sopranos Kristine Hurst-Wajszczuk and Elizabeth Packard Arnold and mezzo-soprano Katherine Sherwood White. Harpsichordist Maria Lyapkova and JoAnn Strickland provide continuo, inaugurating the newly refurbished Italian harpsichord build for UAB in 1978. Repertoire includes lute songs by Dowland, Campion, Blow, and Lanier; arias and duets by Monetverdi and Vivaldi; and works by Handel and Caccini. Admission is free.
